Blue highlighted boxes or frames can't be removed - they appear in the same location regardless of design layer selection

Hi all,

Any pointers much appreciated!  

 

Im trying to get rid of these ghost-like blue boxes.  Does anyone know what caused them or how to remove them?

This file has two rectangles which look like selection boxes highlighted in blue.  The boxes can't be selected and they stay in the same position n relation border as if they are in a sheet layer. If I try to select them the curser does not even register their presesnce even when using force select.

Do you have Screen Plane enabled in Document Settings… > Legacy 2D?

 

Does closing and reopening the file or restarting VW fix it?

Turn off 2d objects in unified view

Screen Plane was enabled so I turned it off and blue boxes remained.  

Also tried to turn off 2d objects in unified view ... unfortunately the boxes remained.

So closed the file and reopened it...boxes remained.  

 

Finally closed VW and restarted and the boxes disappeared!  Finally!  

 

Maybe it's a VW glitch since it is simply reappears (not sure what caused them to appear in the first place) once i'm in the file for some time.  The blue boxes will return again - they've been haunting this file.  I hope I can notice what causes it the next time they show up.
