trooble with straight truss tool

Décalage truss.pdfHello,

When I'm using straight truss tool, the truss can't be a truss system. An other thing is that when I attache a hoist or dead hung to a truss that is 90° degree rotated ( up-down), there is an offset between the drop point and the truss.

It isn't the case when I'm using truss tool.

I would like to use a generic 2 pipes flate truss as the pipes are in my theater  and hang under some truss. How should I do ?

Thanks and have a nice afternoon

alex

Once you have drawn the straight truss you will need to give a roll angle of -90° to correctly orientate it before adding hoists or lights.
While looking at this I've noticed after roling the truss that in top/plan the 2D geometry doesn't display correctly and the autocconnect highlight is offset from the 2D geometry, despite being correct oin 3D views. I'll add a bug report.

You may get better results by using the truss tool with a standard 2 chord truss, just use a model of truss that has similar dimensions to what is hung in your venue.
