Tomas Lohin
Hi, is it possible to exclude certain hanging position with its devices from certain viewport without creating special "hidden" class for it? thanks Quote Link to comment
markdd
It depends exactly what you are trying to do, but Data visualisation would probably be the way to do it. Edited July 4, 2023 by markdd Quote Link to comment
Tomas Lohin
Thanks. I will dig into this area. Just to explain myself better, here is the obvious usecase: Rig contains a few flybars of the same class and layer, populated with lighting devices of its own class and layer. I need to exclude some flybars and connected lighting devices from a viewport, because riggers are not interested in all flybars. Quote Link to comment
markdd
Great. If you attach a record to the lighting bar geometry, or better still if the geometry is a symbol, you can then choose to show or hide the geometry based on the Record it contains. Quote Link to comment
Tomas Lohin
Oooh, it's a great tool! But I'm not sure if it can do what I need. It means there will be no hanging position X on riggers' drawing and also X-assigned lighting devices won't appear in viewport's statistics (device count etc.) Quote Link to comment
markdd
I'm afraid I don't really know what you mean. Can you show an example of what you want to show/hide or better still share the file? Quote Link to comment
Tomas Lohin
Allright. On the attached PDF - hanging position with the yellow background is the one I need to get rid off on this sheet. vwx file also attached. thanks Hora DJM reports.pdf Hora DJM reports.vwx Quote Link to comment
markdd
The Criteria were the Field value of the Hanging Position (Position name) and the Lighting Devices (Position). The criteria could also read CONTAINS BAT and the same result will apply. Edited July 5, 2023 by markdd Quote Link to comment
Tomas Lohin
Thank you. It almost does the job. The only thing left is Label legend of fixtures filtered off. What criteria to get rid of Label legend? I can achieve this by temporarily moving hanging position and fixtures into "off viewport" design layer and make it invisible in a viewport settings. But I believe Data Visualisation is less destructive and more efficient way to do this task once I get used to it. Quote Link to comment
