relative hanging position

Hello,

I would like to pick a custom point on a hanging position and then place lighting fixtures relatively to this point.  - 1m / custom center point / +1m on its x-axis for example.

It might be obvious, but I can't see a solution and it would be very helpful.

add something into the hanging position to mark your point.
This could be an extra piece of geometry, a 3D loci or a symbol.
The key is to have something you can use as a snap point for the dimeniosn tool to measure from.
