Ema Gia
Hello everyone, I need to scale a pdf document (garden plan 1:250) up to 1:200 and once scaled up, I'll start working on the design. Which is the best way to do so? thank you!! Quote Link to comment
Tom W.
If you set the design layer scale to 1:250 then import the PDF it will come in at the correct size. Alternatively, if you've already imported the PDF you can resize it by using Modify > Scale Objects... + 'Symmetric by distance' mode: click on the little dimension symbol, measure a known dimension on the PDF + enter the distance in the 'New Distance' field. Scale doesn't really apply on the design layer. Everything is 1:1. The design layer scale is more a zoom level to allow you to assess how things will look when set to that scale on a sheet layer. If you want your finished design to be 1:200 then this is something to do on the sheet layer (make the viewport 1:200). 2 Quote Link to comment
Ema Gia
thanks foryour help Tom. 1: 250 it is not available among the options, therefore I have to go for the 2nd option. Do you know how to calculate the new distance? Quote Link to comment
Ema Gia
I set the layer scale to 1:200 but you said that won't work. Would you suggest I start working directly on a viewport? Quote Link to comment

You need a known dimension on the PDF i.e. the length of one of the walls, etc or a scale bar. Are you confident it has a scale of 1:250? It's good to have a known dimension anyway so you can check. 1 Quote Link to comment
