Phillip Tripp
Does anyone know why the site model colored elevation mesh is rendering like this? The origin is georeferenced near the middle of the site. The aerial texture works fine in the site model settings, so it is geolocated correctly. File is attached. We are testing out VW 2023 and GIS tools. 583834646_GeoreferencedSiteModelMeshColoredElevation.vwx Quote Link to comment
Jeff Prince
I opened the file you uploaded and it looks fine to me. At initial open the surface is white because the GIS based aerial has to be reloaded, which is done by updating the site model. I don't see the problem you are showing. Quote Link to comment
Phillip Tripp
Are you able to switch to the typical 3D mesh colored elevation view option without the aerial? That's when I get the wireframe like appearance. Quote Link to comment
Phillip Tripp
I'm suspecting their might be a bad contour overlap and I just need to go over the contours closely looking for problems. Quote Link to comment

Nope, way easier than that... the class your site model sits on has no fill 🙂 So, vectorworks doesn't know how to paint those triangles until you correct that. Phillip Tripp
😣 it's been too long since I've made that mistake. Thank you for pointing it out so quickly!! 1 Quote Link to comment

It's the simple stuff that usually get us 🙂 I did notice that deactivating the GIS image in the model settings did not remove the texture, even when changing between the different 3D settings for the model. I had to turn it off in the render tab by changing the texture to none. I'm not sure why that behavior is happening, perhaps unique to 2023? Edited May 17, 2023 by jeff prince Quote Link to comment
Phillip Tripp
I noticed that as well and have experienced that going back to 2019. Although, we've had other priorities and haven't pursued the GIS features heavily, so I don't know if it's an always present issue or just random files in our office. Quote Link to comment
