Crash : Unable to insert new fixture

Hello,

 

I'm designing a stage layout again today, and it's impossible to insert new lighting device.

VW23 crashes at each insertion (video attached).

 

Where do you think the problem comes from?

Have you tried doing a Purge command on the file?

Does it crash with other instruments?

Thank you for your help.

Yes, I tried a purge, but the problem persists.

 

It only appears when I want to integrate a new fixture, either via the Resource Manager or the Lighting Device Tool.

 

I worked on this project until yesterday, and no problem so far.
No update has been done since then.

Can you repair your user folder?

You can do this in the Vectorworks Updater App under advanced options.

It is done, but the problem is not solved.

Vectorworks crashes as soon as I integrate a new fixture.
Also when I copy and paste to a pipe.

Also do you have an internet connection when you are using the software?

 

Is the lighting device one from a Vectorworks Library? Or a device you have created?

 

Are you on VW2023SP4.

 

Lastly we updated the Light Info Record in 2023. Is this a file that was made before September last year?

 

If so can you import a new light info record from the library's? You can do this by inserting a lighting device from one of our librarys into the document.

 

Lastly, can you post a file.

Thanks for answering the questions, looking into the file now.

I think its the heavy mesh objects which are causing the problem.

So the human figures (500mb!) in the file are making the drawing unstable. I have swapped these out and it solved the problem.
