multiple viewports

Question

would like to see multiple viewports within the same drawing session possible. Perhaps similar to autocad viewports command. This is helpful in production of drawings.

I've been asking for this for a long time. Form-Z has a great implementation of the feature, so does Carrara 1.0

I'd like to take a look at how those programs handle this very useful feature.

I would like to use this fuctionality to enlarge a portion of a model. The method of layer linking then masking a model with invisible polygons is cumbersome at best and wreaks havoc when rasterizing since the entire layer is covered with white pixels.

Having the enlarged view linked to the original model is key however, so some implementation similar to a layer link is in order.

This would be killer feature.

Yeah this would be really useful. I worked in Microstation on Mac for 5 years and although it had problems this was an option that was really good. Especially when working on large drawings.
