Peter Yianilos
Where can I find the list of Tool ID integer values for existing tools in VW2017? Specifically, for use in SetTool and CallTool commands. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee klinzey Posted May 1, 2023 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted May 1, 2023 Normally Tool ID values would be available in the Function Reference Appendix, but it appears that Appendix A -C is currently missing.https://developer.vectorworks.net/index.php/VS:Function_Reference_Appendix#settool I have put in a request to have some investigate the issue and get the missing Appendix added back. 1 Quote Link to comment

Thank you. I was wondering why I couldn’t find it. I have used it in earlier versions. I appreciate your reply. Quote Link to comment
SLFY
Looks like this has been an issue for some time. Is there a reason Appendix A-C is still missing? Thanks Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
I don't remember there ever being Appendices A, B, C. If they existed, they were dropped a very long time ago. @MullinRJ As the keeper of the Function Reference lore, do you also keep track of the Appendices? Do you know when there was an appendix A? Vectorworks, Inc Employee klinzey Posted January 22 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted January 22 Now that someone brought it up I had to go back and figure out what was in Appendices A, B, C. Appendices A, B, C existed in the printed MiniPascal manuals but I haven't seen it in anything recent. Depending on which manual I read, it covered how to contact support, how to encrypt, Reserved Words, Numeric Formats, Editor, Pallets and Commands, Search Criteria. 1 Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
Thank you Kevin. I thought the reason they were dropped is because they were less "language" specific. That being said, I think it would be to VWs benefit to find the source documents (or scan in) the printed version of the Custom Solutions in VectorWorks 8.5 manual. It is out of date, but still the best description of how a lot of things work. Maybe put it on the Developer Wiki and ask the community to help update and correct it to be more current. 1 Quote Link to comment
