Chris Broom
Hi Team, I've been using spotlight for a while to create lighting previs/ diagrams for film & tv lighting. I'm struggling to find a way to mate film lights and non ceiling based rigging. For example, a Vortex 8 and a Manfrotto light stand. They don't mate together nicely in the same way it would if you hung it off lighting pipe. Any thoughts and advice on this would be very welcome, also any more generic tips for using Spotlight for a more film and tv focus than live events would be much appreciated. Sean Emer
Have you tried converting the stand object to a Hanging Position? With the stand selected, to go to Spotlight > Object Conversion > Convert to Hanging Position. Then attach the light just as you would to pipe/truss. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee TomWhiteLight Posted April 11, 2023 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted April 11, 2023 There is a marionette for a manfrotto on the Marionette forum. Be wary of symbols as they would all trim to the same height. Here's some tips... 1022709477_TVStandWorkflowlow.mov 1 Quote Link to comment
