  1. I create a new file from a blank document. I draw my model, add sheets and viewports, import pdf's, create my desired VP and sheet layouts. Save the file locally. Close VW09. Reopen VW09 and then select the file I had just closed and it crashes. I look at the saved location and a new file is created with an extension *.lck. Which I presume is a locked file. I open it using notepad and this is what it says... <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="no" ?> Jason Christensen OFFICE-PC 3308555123 Does not seem to help me but maybe someone else understands what this is about. Anyone else with a similar issue?
  2. I have discovered where the files are hidden. They were in a folder here....C:\Users\Jason Christensen\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Vectorworks2009 Unsure why this is, maybe when installed VW09 it located some files here, also I am using McAfee SC and although I close the program down along with services it managers to shift installation file locations. Thanx all for your ideas.
  3. oh sorry file name is...jcds title block.vmx. This is where I have saved it...C:\Program Files\Vectorworks2009\Libraries\Defaults\VAA Title Blocks. As I have said I can use Win Search and the file cannot be found on my local drive.
  4. Not on network. Saving file locally on C:. It is an edited VW2009 VAA Title blocks file. I can see the original file when viewing with Win Exploring, but no other files.
  5. I have altered the post. Confused myself when I read it...thnx. Yes I noted the location where I saved the file. Then with Win Exploring navigated to that location where the file is supposed to be, but alas it is not there. And again I opened it via recent and open. Windows search can find the shortcut from recent files but when I try to right click and try to open file location, it cannot find file.
  6. Where are the files going when saved? I have simply created a file from a blank template, then saved it locally to a default folder and closed the file. Then within VW2009 I can open the saved file either within 'recent files' or with the open command...however...this is where it seems to unravel. When I try to locate the file via the Windows Exploring, the file is not visible and unsearchable on my local drive where I have saved it. You'll see the attached files are visible when opening from VW2009 but no visible from the exact file location using Win Exploring. Can anyone shed any light?
  7. I have a problem with the "Snap Lopue" display...I place cursor over a location I want to select, I push 'z' key when I want to use the snap loupe command, it displays the SL zoomed window, but with little or no information displayed. This occurs 90% of the time...whether in a design layer or annotating within a VP. I am using an Nvidia GeForce 8800GTS video adapter and all drivers upto date with default settings used. Loaded QTime that came with VW2009. Anyone else with a similar problem?
  8. Have you checked the document preferences display tab. You can alter the scale for viewing wall components.
  9. Mike...thanks for the temporary solution...but this is just not right!
  10. Problem occurs when inserting windows in raking walls. Issue is when the sill level is higher than the lowest point of the raking wall. VW display seems to be ok using the VW13 windows & doors, but i'd rather use the WDoor13 system. I believe that when VW13 is processing the surfaces for rendering it is incorrectly doing so. Anyone else have similar problems.
  11. If you have cropped the DLVP, uncrop it as the crop will make it vanish when rendered.
  12. Maybe they (Nemet) do not know what the SP3 pack actually fixes. Wouldn't it be prudent that the list of fixes be the first notification/file available to download. So users can decide whether or not they want to update....just a thought.
  13. I have just done the excercise of creating 8 different block wall types for one project. I scrapped them and used one at the end of the day. I even used a wall as a lining with no success as you can only insert a window or door into one particular wall at a time. Extending the second excercise I then duplicated the exterior walls changed its properties (i.e. thickness, class and fill etc) and altered the window or door to a wall opening. This is long winded but it worked to a degree...just more classes having to be controlled. I did not use linings on internal walls. However I do agree wall components are to be controlled better. 2008 is an improvement but not quite there I dont think.
  14. There is such a tool already or was. Look for custom dash line. You are able to a slash across the dashed line or a text string within the dsahed line. You can adjust repetitions and other things.
  15. Not critizing but why not just use C4d? Looks as though the wish list is a comparison to that pack.
  16. There's a tool available for dl either at VectorDepot or somewhere. I use it and it's great. I'll find a link.
  17. Are you opening older version drawings? As there seems to be a problem here in translation. To help I regenerate all windoor objects but still OIS display is slow. The next fix after this is to replace all windoor objects with windoor13 PIO's.
  18. Select Model -> Cut 3d Section...if this is not listed you'll need to customize your menu to add it to the list in the Model menu.
  19. Sent file and description and comp profile. Thanx
  20. I have found a possible bug in VW2008. I have drawn a rectangle (as part of a roof structure section) and annotated it with an associated dimension. I wanted to adjust the rectangle by altering its length, but when doing so the rectangle does wierd and wonderful things for itself. i.e. it does not adjust to the length I had entered in the OIP and it rotates to an unpredicted angle. I remove the associated dimension and the rectangle adjusts fine. I tried reproducing this in a blank file and works fine. It is not just the file I'm working on that it has done this. Anyone find this aswell?
  21. Goto http://www.ozcad.com.au/ Julian Carr writer of Windoor13...great plugin...included in VW Architect for NZ and Oz users.
