  1. Yes, the Title Block border object was changed significantly in Vw 2018; this video only applies to Vw 2017 and older as noted. They are much more powerful now once you get them set up properly, which is not the easiest thing to accomplish.

Take a look at the Vw University portal, searching for ‘Title Block’. There are several videos to get you started creating a custom Title Block border object.

Also take a look at the Vw Help File, which also has a video on creating Title Block border objects.

Thanks Jonathan but not what I asked for. I'd like to know where I can download the stand-alone updaters, not the Update command in the pull down menu.

If you run the Vw 2023 Updater application (on macOS it is located in in the same folder as the Vw application), click on the 'Advanced Options +' button at the right, and at the bottom is a link to 'Download Update'. Select that and you can choose which SP you want to download.

  3. One MAJOR limitation of the Layer Import file recovery method described above is that it will not transfer Stories or Levels between files, and it will also not transfer any Workgroup References that were in the file.

Any Story or Level bound objects which get transferred to the new file will give you an error that the bounding object ‘doesn’t exist’, or in the case of Stairs will not be created at all.
