Hello pipe weight is based on it's length and material weight.

    And Wall Thickness.
You have your wall thickness set to 0, and EN-AW-6061-T6 is standard aluminum tube.

It's  important that we have all this information, not just the weight, as it may be used for structural calculations.

Are you using a material that is not listed?

  2. The way we currently recommend using the "Additional Default Records" option to copy the data from the records to the lighting device.
We recommend creating your own user record rather than addling a field to the Light Info Record so you don't have to deal with the record conflict dialog appearing every time you import a new symbol.

A video should be posted soon of Vectorworks University that covers this topic.
It's not there yet so keep checking the University for new content.

  3. Are you using ETC Eos nomad on the same computer as Showcase or a different machine?
Which protocol do you have ETC Eos nomad configure to output ? ArtNet or sACN?
Are you connected to a network?
Did you make any special configurations to the network settings on either Machine?
Have you disabled the firewall or granter permissions to Showcase and Eos when asked?

Have you tried using a 3rd party ArtNet or sACN viewer to verify that the ETC Eos nomad is outputting data?

  4. Labels can be grouped in the label legend and additional text can be added to the group.

Both 2D and 3D labels can be grouped and then moved by a single control point. Additional text objects can be added to a group of labels. For example, add a prefix, suffix, or separator. To avoid overlapping text, set the Horiz. Align/Vert. Align to adjust the label insertion point of the labels.

See Item #3 in the Formatting the label legend layout section in the Vectorworks Help.

  5. Weight and Wattage are not native units in Vectorworks so they have to be text fields in order to allow the device to have a unit mark.
For many of the fields users do not use exclusively a number. For your example of Circuit Number, many users will circuit numbers such as C5 to designate it as circuit 5 in the C multi-cable and use the circuit name field for the distributor name etc.

In a worksheet you can convert text to a number using the Value() function, however the text string can not contain a unit mark.

  6. Can you post a sample file?
I haven't seen multiple lights turn on unless they have the same address.
Make sure your modes are the same. The Lustr has a bunch of different modes don't agree it would be very easy to turn on several lights at once.

The only thing I have found is that the ETC software does not like just being connected to a simple switch and manual IP addresses assigned to the machines on the network.
Most of the time I'm had to use a router with DHCP enabled to allow IP address to be automatically assigned.

  7. In this example the beam is drawn vertically automatically because if drawn horizontally the edge of the beam would go to infinity, or almost infinity within a reasonable distance.
In this case we automatically draw the beam vertically.

  8. Assuming they are complete GDTF file that include geometry, make sure the option to "Use GDTF Geometry" is checked in the OIP of the lighting device.
If the GDTF symbol shows a preview of the device in the Resource Manager then checking the option should use geometry provided by the GDTF file.
Some applications don't actually export real GDTF files, they export proxy GDTF files that contain no real data.
If they are no complete GDTF, then yes, you should use Find and Modify to add the Vectorworks symbol as you have shown above.

  9. The available fixture modes are not stored with the file or the symbol, they are part of the application.
This data is common between Vectorworks and Vision so it's stored in a common location that can be accessed by both applications.
The Vision library updater is in control of updating the information as these files are critical to the operation of Vision and updates are done between releases.
The updated data you are looking for is not yet included with the default installation of Vectorworks but it is available as a library update in Vision.
It looks like you have updated Vision library on Windows but not on the Mac.

closing the 'Inventory and Equipmentlist' dialog window and the worksheet window before pressing the 'ok' Button seems to lead to not saving the worksheet...

Clicking the "X" button on any dialog is the equivalent of pressing the "Cancel" button. This is standard behavior across all dialogs.
Anything created since the dialog was open should be removed because you decided to cancel the command.
A worksheet is not a dialog, there is not OK/Cancel button. Each worksheet is considered more of a palette or a window.

  11. The Vision library is common library that is shared between Vectorworks and Vision. It's installed in a common application directory outside of the Vision and Vectorworks folders. Your best option is to repair Vectorworks or do a clean install to put the files in the proper location.
When you moved from one computer to another the path to the files and/or your home directory named changed.
Having the files inside of the Vectorworks directory fixes the problem but the installer will not update the files as it expects them to be in a different location.
