Trying to create a solar animation (simple blocks). It give me an error "error: create movie file failed. I have done this before when I had a powerbook G4, now I have an macbook pro. Is this incompatibility problem ??? Anyone has this problem ?

Now to think of it, I have upgrade the ram on my Powerbook G4 17" 1.67ghz to 2gb of memory. About a month ago...

Katie The error message is exact and directly from vectorworks 12.5.2. And I have done disk utility about 3 weeks ago. This just came up today and I have been exporting file in the last few months. I will send a copy this file that I have been working on, but what would it make any difference if a simple line or rectangle is exported and not work?

Well I could not wait for the 12.5.3 to download (busy Server, taking little over an hour to download for 85mb) I tried something else that worked for me. I downgrade version to 13/LT95 and presto it work. Must be something about R14 and up that is causing it. Any thought on this Katie????

Doing the same thing but give me error window "An internal error was encountered. Cannot Continue." I have version 12.5.2 on OS 10.4.10. I have tried changing workspace, did the same thing. will now try to upgrade to 12.5.3 see if this work before reinstalling. Prefer not too.

Just upgrade to v12 and I need some help on importing some of the notes I created in General Notes Tool. I tried 'saving as' from v11 and from v12 choose selected file, but when I do this it delete the ones I created in v12. Any thoughts..

Alan, Much appreciated and thank you. I am glad, did not buy the unit yesterday and much of thinking about functionality of keyboard short cut and mouse would be be better use for me. Not having experience on pen/tablet at all would be another learning curb. Thanks again.

Thank you, I was thinking of intuos anyway and that was recommended by the manufacturer. How does the stylus and mouse compare, I thought it (stylus) would be the same movement as the mouse without the scroll wheel or does it work like a pencil on your hand? **Oh, again, I forgot. Also about the productivity comparison between tablet and mouse, any difference? Anyone?

Is there anyone that uses this could tell me which would better in size wise 4x5 or 6x8 tablet for drafting. I have a 17" Powerbook with a external 13" crt monitor and very limited space. I use VW11.5 alot and will be using Sketchup soon. I been using the mouse for far too long and considering a more expensive method of mousing and beside my wrist is getting sore and old age is not helping. Oh, How do you position tablet when you work, is it beside the computer like the mouse or in front of you?

Hello all, The discussion on the slowness on VW 11.5, has this been resolve onto VW 12? I know is a bit early for this but some of us are still VW11.5 and wondering if this would be a worth upgrading just because of the speed issue that had been lengthy discussion.

HI All, i'm having simillar issues that I have read thru these discussion, but mime just occured recently when I updated my operating system from OS 10.3 to 10.4 and it got worst when updated to 10.4.2 security upgrade from apple. I have been doing Repair permission and reinstall VW11.5.1 somewhat improved but still coming back. I think these issues related to latest OS and VW is not up to par with Apple. My slow problem is regenerating the drawing when panning and opening sheet layers containing details with many PIO and hatches. I have also notice that the working with viewports is very slow ( I use this because i like the the idea not having to draw same details twice in different scales) and tiring to edit annotation especially trying to snap dimension on other viewport showing and having to go each viewport to change it. BTW, this slowness happens on 2d drawings, 3d rendering seem to be fine so far.
