PDFs in general on macOS Sonoma. They were being corrupted except in Adobe Reader. But I've just had another look and that issue is resolved as of beta 3 (5 July).

I've seen discussions regarding earlier versions about problems with PDFs getting corrupted, so I haven't touched it yet.

That's how we're doing it too

I made a bunch of door hardware sets, applied them to all my door instances. Then I changed the names of the sets, only to find that this breaks the connection and the door instance remembers the old name. I feel dirty.

How do you report how many hinges per door?
It's definitely HWQty, which is silly. It could easily have been HWHingeQty.
I imagine it's traditional to refer to 1 1/2 pairs (being 3) because they would have typically come in packs of two.

Oh duh! I was looking for 'hinge quantity', not 'hardware quantity'. Thanks Pat.

Where do I find the Hinge Qty record?

It's actually OneDrive we're using, though confusingly referring to it as Sharepoint, as when we click on OneDrive the web address then references Sharepoint for some unhelpful reason
That is SO Microsoft.

I think, in part, the answer to my question is that hardware sets existed before door styles for one thing.

I've just been attempting to create a door schedule using data in my Door Style/Instances to populate my schedule, however when it comes to hardware I find hardware sets highly restrictive.
Even in a simple 2-storey house I have some doors with levers some with knobs, some with closers some not, some with door stops some not, some with locks some not. And for each and every one of those variants I have to create another hardware set and name it something ridiculous.
Seems to me that Door Hardware Sets should be an option, not the only option. The other option being that all the hardware parameters, apart from Hardware Set ID, should be capable of being set separately, as part of the Door Style or instance and not associated with a set.
Is there any reason why we should only use sets?

"Topic Title" perhaps?
Another option.

I could imagine some writing 'architect'

I think @JuanP said at the top of the thread that it was hard coded in the forum software so they can't change it.
What's really annoying is that you can't join their forum to discuss such things unless your an owner of the forum software.
Probably simply enough to change the hard coding but would need to be done after every update.

There is no good way to do this then because many around the globe would be confused by “title” or “heading” as evidenced by the phenomena which inspired this thread. Perhaps the folks in charge should talk to an expert on this UI and translation stuff. That’s what we do for projects we design in other countries 😉
Sure way to get nothing done 😆. Better to change it and see how it goes.

Anybody care to post a screenshot of their practice library folder structure?

No I think there's a case for keeping "title" or "heading" in the field name. "Subject" or "Topic" could be mistaken for the main content.

Based on the title of this thread (and Richard's response above) I think Andy is right. It's pretty clear now that the problem is with the 'start new topic' form being too vague.
@JuanP are we able to change this field name from "Title" to "Subject Title"?

1. You need to make sure all your callouts are set to use "relative path"
2. You'll probably still find it a pain in the ass. I hate the way the Notes Manager works.
3. Make use of the Text > Reconcile Notes command. It can fix many problems in a jiffy.
4. Why do you keep your VW files on the VW drive (I assume by this you mean VW Cloud Services) but your notes database on Google Drive? Why not put your notes database on VCS too?

I've moved this thread to the wishlist forum.

It says 8 displays with the Ultra. How does that work? Can you daisy chain them?

Seems to have done the trick. No one has posted to this subforum with VW related things since the name was updated.

On three occasions now I've had to reset the user origin to match the georeferencing coordinate system in the project I'm working on. (Tools > Origin > Set User Origin to match the Georeferencing coordinate system).
I'm the only one working on the files. Any idea what could be triggering this to periodically come undone?

We've had an issue for 5 months now where we've been unable to access the OneDrives/Sharepoints of our existing clients, except with personal email addresses. Microsoft Support have proven wholly incapable of solving the problem. I spent a month of wasted time being made to trouble-shoot. Then they did the same to our clients.
It's a backend software engineering issue (the type of problem Dropbox would solve in a jiffy), but they steadfastly maintain this idea that it's a configuration problem. Never have I experienced such incompetence in a tech company. It has reminded me why, all those years ago, I went bought a Mac and never looked back.
The problem appears to be that our client's 365 accounts ("tenants" in MS parlance) are unable to forget an old account of ours.
We upgraded to 365 when our MS Teams trial ran out, instead of moving to the free version. But before upgrading to 365 we had two accounts. One that we were using for MS Teams and another that we were using for OneDrive file-sharing. The file-sharing account had our domain associated with it, but we wanted to upgrade the MS Teams account because that had all our chat history. Once we upgraded we deleted the other account and re-associated our domain with the newly upgraded account. This seems to have triggered the problem.
It's this deleted account that our client's tenants are unable to forget about. So now, when we are sent an invite to file-sharing, we get a message that our email address/account can't be found on our client's directory.
