  1. I'd like the Edit window to popup to name a Sheet Layer when you're duplicating one, instead of it naming it itself. Dunno about Design Layers, but it would be useful with Sheet Layers. One thing that's annoying currently is that we have our job numbers tagged on the end of each Sheet Layer name, e.g. 05918. If we duplicate a Sheet Layer this gets truncated to 5918 instead of becoming 05918-1. Which is a bug I guess.
  2. Yes nesting. The whole program needs a nesting once-over.
  3. Yeah I'd assumed the same when I asked for this too: http://techboard.nemetschek.net/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Board=12&Number=61376 The option is there for both Viewport and Saved View. Maybe the default should be Visible instead of Invisible, at least for Saved Views?
  4. Similar to the ability to group Layers/Sheet Layers like classes maybe: http://techboard.nemetschek.net/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Board=12&Number=72548
  5. I just tried this and Print to PDF created a file with text in it (which could be selected in both Acrobat and Preview). Also, strangely, I couldn't select the text of the exported PDF in Preview (although I could in Acrobat)?
  6. I just checked with the developers of UBB and they confirmed that this is indeed the case (one called it a bug that you could previously rate your own topics). Which seems stupid to me. Why not offer the option in the configuration preferences? Who are the UBB forum developers to tell their users they can't have this option. All a bit paternalistic if you ask me. If I had my way you could rate your own topics. Ratings would be clearly visible for each topic, in all the different forum views. And ratings would only be turned on for the Wishlist forum. Actually, if I had it my way, I'd just change to a decent forum software package: http://bbpress.org/ Give me access to your server and I'll set it up myself!
  7. Would it be possible to send the Sheet Layer name to printers rather than the File Name? This would be useful for logging purposes. At the moment, when going through printer logs, you only know which file was printed, or if your file is locked and you open a copy to print it then it gets logged as Untitled.
  8. Cool. The separate message board seems a bit over the top though (crap software too). There's already a bunch of stuff on there that's duplicated on here. I can understand needing a different forum for a different language, but other than that what's the point?
  9. Well that's a silly assumption on UBB's part. There are some of my wishlist items that I rate lower than other people's and sometimes I post ideas just to see what others think of them.
  10. Ah, so they don't exist in a separate file somewhere.
  11. While you're at it could also throw in a full-screen mode like Aperture's too.
  12. You misunderstand me Jon. I'm curious to know where they actually live in the VectorWorks installation.
  13. Because it's another file to manage. The beauty of having all the main resources in a single template file is that it's very easy to manage. At the moment if a change is needed to the template all I need to do is open the template, alter it, overwrite, and then propagate via Remote Desktop. It means when someone asks for a change I can usually do it then and there. Adding anymore steps to this process (such as having to keep a duplicate non-template file in sync), I've found, makes it too time-consuming, easy to forget to do things, and less likely the change will get done there and then when it's most convenient for everyone. It's also a case of simplicity. If you can tell people there's one file and one file only where they can get everything they need then it makes life a lot simpler.
  14. If you open a blank file there are no Sketch Styles in the Resource Browser. If you then click on View > Rendering > Sketch they all suddenly appear in the Resource Browser. If you then delete them and do the above again they don't reappear. Just curious to know how it all works as I'm gradually refining our template file.
  15. Notwithstanding a complete overhaul of the Resource Browser, I'd like the ability to add a Template file as a Favourite. Our Template file contains most of our resources (symbols, etc.) but in certain circumstances we start with a blank file and import resources as needed. The problem for us, then, is that we have to open a Template derived untiltled file and import directly from that, because a Template file can't currently be added as a Favourite.
  16. Whatever the solution I would hope that it also worked with multiple-symbol-in-wall-selection (already on the wishlist).
  17. This forum's for informing NNA "of any areas you would like to see Tech Notes Created," rather than support questions Blink.
  18. You're only missing something if you're lacking imagination. With a enough people the system is quite useful for canvassing the quality of an idea (i.e. a Wishlist item), which is different from thread popularity (a thread could be popular because it's controversial, but that doesn't mean everybody rates the idea highly). To see an example of this system being used to its full potential see WordPress's implementation: http://wordpress.org/extend/ideas/ They implement the most popular features each update cycle too.
  19. It is possible that there was a bug when I (and you) tried it last time, which has been fixed at some point, maybe.
  20. Thanks Pete, yeap already covered. Thanks for the PIO tip tho.
  21. Since the forum's been updated it appears that you can't rate your own topics anymore (maybe it's the default setting for the updated software). Can we change this back to being able to rate your own topics? It's useful for encouraging others to rate them too.
  22. Couldn't seem to find any relevant setting in Acrobat unfortunately.
