When I add a new sheet/'s to a VWA10.5 file from the setup menu all of my classes revert to the default attributes. It undoes all my changes to the classes. A lot of work to redo them. Is there a way to set my own default attributes to classes?

you multiply the horizontal flat area by percentage factor of the roof pitch. ie. a bldg 8'x12'=96sqft with a 7:12 pitch (96sqft x 1.158)=111.168sqft roof area. see "Builders vest pocket Ref. Book" for factors

I have had this problem in 2D mode. The work around is, you have to goto LAyers dialog box select all layers with the same scale and re-select the scale. This will work most of the time, but there is a bug because sometimes it does that any.

I have been committed to using VWA 10.5 and have been using minicad since V4. We all love new futures BUT WOULD RATHER NOT HAVE THEM IF IT IS GOING TO CAUSE PROBLEMS FOR THE EXISTING TOOLS. NOW. I want to upgrade from VWA10.1.2 to VWA10.5 At the office is a network running WinXP pro. I have asked the IT guy to upgrade VWA he "say" that on a notice board it said VWA has problems with the network. He does not want to upgrade all the workstations and goes not want to just upgrade my station. He wants to wait till VWA10.5 is upgraded.?? He said that upgrading just one computer causes problems with the licenses. Whoever there are 3 Mac?s connected to the network, which has already upgraded to VWA 10.5 and has no problems. Could you give me a word on any know problems as I have described. Thank you

How do I open Minicad 4 Files? We have a few files which we need to open / convernt to VWA 10.5 I still have my copy of minicad 7, VW8 & VWA9. The file we have are Mac files. Can we load Minicad 7 or VW8 on Windows 2000 or XP? or on Mac OS X ?

HI KEVIN, I HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEMS WITH THE ANIMATION AS YOU ARE HAVING. I WAS ABLE TO WORK AROUND THE ORBIT ANIMATION BY KEEPING THE ROTATION TO BELOW 60 OR 90. TEST IT YOU KNOW THAT YOU HAVE TO WAIT THE FIVE HOURS TILL YOU FIND OUT IF IT WORKS. VWA 10.5 IS MORE STABLE BUT I DO NOT WANT TO SPEAK TOO SOON. THE WALK THRU I'M STILL WORKING ON. ANY IDEA'S ANYONE?

THANKS FOR THE REPLIES. THERE IS NO WAY TO CONTROL THE PILASTER OR COLUMN SIZE. CAN'T DO A COLUMN 8X20" I USE THE EXTRUSION TO DO THE COLUMNS AND ROOF. I MADE A 2D POLYGON SECTION OF THE WALL AND CURVED ROOF THEN PUT THE LAYER INTO A FRONT VIEW AND EXTRUDES THE SECTION TO THE LENGTH. LOOKS GREAT RENDERED BUT NOT IN PLAN. YOU CAN CREATE HOW YOU WOULD WANT IT TO LOOK IN 2D PLAN BY MAKING A SYMBOL WITH THE 3D EXTRUSION. IT WOULD BE NICE IF VWA CAN TAPER WALLS AND HAVE RECTANGLE COLUMNS

I was using the double poly tool and reshape it. Now I use the roadway tool and it works great. -can change road width with no problems. -intersections(tee) corners works very well. - best of all it is in 3D and you can see the slopes. I started using it on a commercial project and sasve a lot of time.

Why is it that the gray layer's: 1. Text on the prints and shows a gray box for the text? Couldn't it just show the gray text or not show anything! 2. Dashed line are not dashed ?

I like the new wall join tools for the most part the . But the X jion should go back to the way it was in VWA9 because most of the time you have to move or change the wall. With the new way of doing things you have to delete the wall.
