  1. Often we have details that we pull in from other projects and or we rearrange the details on the sheet. Hence the need to renumber each label in consecutive order. It would be great to have a tool that I could set to a start number and click every consecutive detail mark and renumber them sequentially without having to edit the Object info for each item. This would save a great deal of time and my hands from carpel tunnel syndrome.

P.S. it would be great if this worked on door and window marks, detail marks, and any other object that has record based number field.

  2. I would like to bring this issue back up again. Many times things get drawn or symbols and hatches are in line weights 1 and 2 mils and this is just to small for our printers or our desires. It would be nice to have a setting that beefed up all line weights to a minimum and our minimum would be 3 mils. Seems like a simple request and a simple fix.

  3. Thinking a bit more about my wish. I would like to be able to keep items grouped and polylines and such. It would be nice that if the viewport crops something then it is recreated as a smaller piece but if it doesn't then the object stays intact. And I said single layer but, I have changed my mind on that one, Just as long as the Dwg is produced in model space and no paper space.

  4. One thing I would suggest is save the file you want to export to a seperate file. Then purge it until you cannot purge anything else. I would also suggest geting rid of the viewport all together bringing everything to design layers if you can. Then export. I have placed in the wish list for the capability for VW to use the print command to export. Hence producing a 2D single layer Dwg that is a replica of the drawing as viewed when printing.

  5. I understand and live with x,y but it isn't the fastest and easiest way. Most other CAD programs give you the option to grab an object, pick a reference, start motion in a certain direction and then type in a distance for it to move from the reference point. I am a competent draftsmen in, Autocad, Generic Cadd, DataCad and Vectorworks, and in my opinion Vectorworks has the slowest move system of them all.

  6. Yes, Design layers would be good but mostly Sheet Layers. I just remember back when everything was drawn as printed. Now we hide so much stuff in turned off classes, Layers and Cropped viewports. It would just be nice to export a clean simple representation of what is displayed on the screen at any given time.

  7. I am not so much looking for a work around. I know how to get the information in the format I need. I am just trying to save time. It doesn't do me much good to use viewports if I must rework it all on a new layer to give it to the engineers . I just would like to be able to convert what I see on the screen to a new drawing, I can save it as an image, but not a drawing.

  8. THANKS FOR THE ADVICE, BUT NOT WHAT I NEED. I NEED A AUTOCAD DWG THAT IS NO MORE THAN WHAT YOU SEE WHEN YOU PRINT. VECTORWORKS HAS MANY GREAT FEATURES, AND I LOVE IT, BUT THE ENGINEERS MOST OF THE TIME JUST NEED A SIMPLE FLAT PLAN. NOTHING SPECIAL. WHAT I WANT TO BE ABLE TO DO IS KIND OF LIKE THE FLATTEN LAYERS COMMAND IN PHOTOSHOP. YOU HAVE THIS COMPLEX IMAGE AND THEN YOU JUST FLATTEN IT ALL TO ONE LAYER. SIMPLE...

  9. I WOULD LIKE TO VECTORWORKS TO BE ABLE TO EXPORT FILES VIA THE PRINT COMMAND. REASON BEING IT WOULD BE NICE TO PRINT A 2D MODEL SPACE ONLY DWG TO SEND TO THE ENGINEERS. OUR ENGINEERS GET PRETTY ANNOYED WITH PAPER SPACE. THE OTHER OPTION WOULD BE TO BEABLE TO CONVERT A PRINT SHEET AND ALL THE VIEWPORTS TO A GROUP SO I COULD PLACE THEM ON A SINGLE LAYER TO THEN EXPORT.

  10. I would like a way to turn of fills in Top/Plan projection, ideally in View ports. This would be convenient in making Electrical and RCP plans with out turning off the fills on the Floor Plan. Does any one have a solution that is not global?
