  1. I haven't seen any discussions yet on 3d rotation and 3d views. i have yet to see version 2009 so if anyone who has can answer, please do. It sounds like this new kernel is going to bring VW to a very professional level in 3d modeling, which we should all be thankful for - this is a huge step and not only will it make our work easier, it will increase the seats of VW users, making hiring easier other steps which need to be taking are: _the way you move around a 3d object in VW - the grab and rotate capabilities. _2, 3, and 4 different views of the model contemporarity - at the present, VV allows you to only have one view at a time of a 3d model. my question is, has this release of VW been changed regarding these issues and/or has NM addressed these implementations, and if yes, how?
  2. Thanks Sean for adding Vectorworks to the list on Wikipedia, and for adding Parasolid to Vectorworks!
  3. all of the information that i've read regarding V.2009 is actually quite positive. the parasolid kernel is very likely to give vectorworks improved capabilities, improved speed, and hopefully increase the userbase (which will make hiring qualified employees an easier task). i've got some concerns however which i have not been able to easily clarify regarding minimum requirements: can anyone tell me if from what they have read, I could run V2009 on a G4 with a chip upgrade (dual 1.4) with 2MB of Ram? Would it run smoothly?
  4. The Plugin is now available as a direct download on the Maxon site -
  5. i had updated to SP2 and then had to 'backtrack' to SP1 - I found SP incredibly slow and for some reason SP1 is more responsive - after reinstalling everything and upgrading to SP1, I am happy again. I'll await SP3 - just one persons opinion

  7. yes, this and other issues with SP2 have me doubting whether my updating was a mistake or not. i would like to go back to SP1......could I receive instructions on the proper technique to reinstall? thank you
  8. Hello - Thanks for the link. The plug in is available at last and it does work. I've run a few tests and it does work, but I've had a few issues with Vectorworks crashing while exporting so I'm not sure this is the final version or not. Restarting VW's helps, and second or third tries with the export work! good news.
  9. good question - 'i would like to know what it is fixing' - hopefully it will be faster, and not slower, on all fronts.
  10. hmmmm - thanks....i guess the drawing in question was created in 2008, so strange that a linked layer would have been created - stranger yet that a message would pop up discussing the need to un-link some linked layers...
  11. I've gotten numerous times a message saying something like 'you cannot create a viewport - please unlock layer links' -the problem is i can't find layer link in VW 2008 - it seems it doesn't exist? has the name changed?
  12. wow - 60 seconds is long time. i have noticed soem very slow time for doing things like 'making' doors or windows in VW 2008 as well -something like 10 or 15 seconds, which seems like allot of time to me as well - it was faster in VW 12.
  13. thanks - but on mac it isn't working.....probably an incompatiblity between leopard and the plug-in, which i trust will soon be resolved
  14. Hi Ariel - you mention that you were able to install the plugin, which is actually further than I have gotten - a few questions for you: did you install the 12.5 export plugin or the 12.0 export plugin? are you running tiger or leopard? any further information would be a great help for many of us
