Many other software packages have the ability to change the attributes of layers so that they can be seen but not be snapped.
This might be very handy to add a column in the layer tab besides the visibility columns to disable snapping for selective layers.

what´s always annoying is that when importing these filetypes there is no hirarchy inside vectorworks, whereas C4D or Form-Z imports layer, object or other structures.
can this please be implemented in a future version?

Hi Dave, can you please tell if that issue will be fixed with SP4 like the one with "slicing geometry"?

That´s just the same that i see in the office that i am working for.
MacOS is much more responsive to changing in tasks between different programs, like the ones you are using.
Windows (10 in our office) is much slower when it comes to special tasks like refreshing references (in vectorworks) or copy something huge from one app to another.
I´d say - stay with MacOs .-)

Your first idea came also to my mind but i was hoping there is a more inntelligent way...
Would be cool to have data tags reading fixed worksheet cells to do things like that...

i have this question.
i have counted many symbols (seats, tables) for an exhibition stand within a worksheet.
is it possible to get the result from single cells into something like a datatag or similar that always displays the cell information inside the drawing?

when i use your file and the scale is set to 1:100 it also happens fast when in perspective mode.
setting the layerscale to 1:1 it does not to happen...
tested with sp2

i can confirm this behauvior.
same here.
when no object is selected and i activate the clip cube, the bounds of the clip cube are related to the geometry of the active layer

I am not that deep into all the cloud services in respect to the ability to use ps.
But the most important thing in our company is, that any service that uses cloud accessibilty has to be TISAX compliant.
And as far as i know only OneDrive and NextCloud are close to it, but don´t meet the requirements to use it...

Actually it´s the only thing that i want to change to the top 2d view without having the rotation to be reset.
My saved view is called Top_Rotated, but i think that is not really important .-)
I looked in the POI and found a procedure called vrestore - which i think is the tool to do it - but then i am stuck...
If you can help, that will be georgous!

Is there any way to have own saved views to be accessible with shortcuts?
In my case - i have a rotated ifc model and every time i zero on the numberkeypad the rotation gets set to zero degrees... but front / left and so on correspond to the rotated plan view...
annoying...

maybe the location of those two is too far away from the internal origin?
did you try to copy it into a new blank document?

personally i use iges to import from form-z to vwx.
but textures, as far as i know, are only transported when you use the obj format.

@klinzey - i guess your suggestion solved the problem. after updating the fixture libraries it does not freeze anymore.

I just started to use or i am trying to use Vision, but without any success.
After opening an export from vectorworks (commend send to vision) i can only do two or three things inside vision and than the spinning ball appears.
I am running a Macbook Pro 16" with M1Max CPU and MacOs12.6.

This happened also in vwx22 several times to me.
after i couldn´t figure out what it caused this (after several times) i did a repair with the updater.
after that it didn´t appear anymore.
but that was vwx 2022...

Hi Pat, sorry for the late reply.
I was trying to extract some data from led modules that are part of an installation. i combined all different types in one single database and wanted to calculate with single entries for different options. Now that i know that this doesn´t work i splitted the main entries up to different sections so that the result of one part is good to calculate what i was trying .-)

maybe a total stupid question, but i can´t manage to get a value from one cell in a database sub-row to have it put in a normal cell to do extra calculations with it.
is there a speacial way to adress the cells in a sub-row?

Grouping of Layers - PLEASE

Please add the ability to group layers in the layer tab!
Please let layers be linked to others with drag & drop.
Please do not implement a grouping like it is done with classes to sort them by a prefix.
This would be to complicated to have a flexible layer structure.
