  1. So really that command doens't do anything. VW saves all the palette info on an exist anyways. So if VW is operating correctly and you close like normal, saving the palette positions does nothing for you?
  2. You are right, it doesn't export. I guess I didn't look that closely at my export. Thanks Jim.
  3. On my sheetlayers I use a titleblock that has it's own Border. I like this because I can make the border however I want it. The only problem I am finding is that when you use title block only it has a loci on the insertion point. Is there anyway of getting rid of that loci?
  4. I do close VW after setting the Resource browser, but that doesn't matter. Everytime it crashes I have to change it no matter how VW was last closed. I know that there currently is setting for changing between 1 and 2 monitors, but shouldn't the command work if I didn't change my monitor setup. If I saved it with 2 monitors open and VW crashes, shouldn't the save palette position still be good?
  5. I don't understand what this does. I know what it is supposed to do, but it never works. Whenever I switch between 1 screen and 2 screen my palettes are all messed up (this I already know and have talked about on other threads), so I fix them and click 'save palette positions' so that when VW crashes or when I close VW I can reopen to the same positions. It never works, and I have no idea of why or when it saves the positions. Another thing that is driving me nuts is I cannot get my Resource Browser to open as thumbnails by default. Every time VW crashes (which has been ridiculous lately) it opens in list view, which i can't understand why you would want that.
  6. I just checked and updated them. I'm going to wait until the next time I need a plot though before I test print.
  7. Never thought about that. It is a HP Designjet T790 44in
  8. That is fine, except I am looking for a way to do it without having to add custom page sizes to everyone in my offices computers.
  9. Is there a way to setup my Sheet Layer so the Page is laid out Landscape, but it can print Portrait? The way my plotter works it kind of backwards from how My screen views it.
  10. If you have spotlight, I have converted tables to instruments and then made a label legend for them. Then you can use autonumbering to do that. This doesn't fix things automatically, but it is sure faster than using number stamp.
  11. Yeah, I know how to do it through the resource browser, but I am want to do it though the OIP, so I can have different images on different sheet layers.
  12. Is there a way to insert an image in a title block via the OIP. I have my standard title block that has my company logo on it, but what I want it to be able to easily add a client logo to my title block. Is there a way?
  13. I know that this has been talked about on the forums before, but I just want my 2 cents in. It would be great to get an option when exporting PDFs or Publishing PDFs to have a simple option. Most of the time I don't need all the information that VW exports in PDFs. On all renders and large drawings what I end up doing is exporting an image file, then converting that to a PDF. It would be awesome if VW could do that for me, instead of having the huge PDFs that we get now.
  14. Has anybody at VW noticed this or have a fix?
  15. Is there a way to use the 'Publish' tool with having to create 2 layers of folders on my computer. I would love to be able to use it like I did the Batch Export tool, where it would just put all the PDFs in the folder you wanted, and not add a PDF folder, and a drawing folder in there.
  16. Yes I noticed that too. It can really screw up my work.
  17. Anybody else have this problem. In the middle of a drawing, and I want to change the texture of everything in a class. I edit the properties of that class and click 'use at creation.' That dialogue now changed every class to use at creation and then every class texture is applied. This can not be undone, and is extremely frustrating. I am currently running VW2014 spotlight w/renderwork, sp2 build 209336
  18. I always turn off Adjust Flipped Text, because I always want to pick the direction for my text. I could go on a tangent about this tool but I won't. What drives me nuts is changing the setting in document settings, and that not transferring over to viewports. My request is that viewports default to whatever the document setting is, not automatically on.
  19. I think that looks good as well. 1 thing I would like to add is an option for when you first place the seating in to draw Layout lines only and draw boundry lines. I always switch to that when adjusting my seating so it takes less time to re-draw everything.
  20. I would like that Image Props be placed by click. As far as I can tell you get the pop up dialogue, click OK, then VW places it on some origin that may or may not be the actual origin of the drawing.
  21. While I don't think I get C4D quality renders, I feel like I can get a pretty realistic render out of renderworks. When it started clicking for me was when I started using the rendermode realistic interier and that really made a difference. The other thing that really helps and lighting. Don't try to light it like you would like in real life, you'll end up with way too many lights and it still might not look the way you want it to. Light for each picture/render.
  22. I use it a lot to get started, then ungroup and fix. I draw a lot of seating layouts for Ballrooms, and usually I can get something close to what I need and I feel it is slightly faster than using offset duplication. I like having the ability to quickly change offsets and how the layout is. Usually it gets to a point where I just need that table/chair that is right on the boundry, or I don't want that row with 1 chair, so I ungroup it so it is no longer a plugin object.
