Gary C
How can I learn the advanced features that VW can do, that is not explained well in there manuals? I would love to be able to draw a plan and have it give me LF of NEW walls, SF of NEW roof, SF of new Tile flooring etc.. Is VW capable of this, and if so where can I learn this? matto
The first place to look would be Worksheets, and the database functions of worksheets. Cells in the worksheet can have a function that will give you say "the Linear length of all walls of thickness x in class y on layer z" the formula will look like =function ('criteria') The pop-up menu of the worksheet will give a list of Functions and also a tool to set criteria similar to way Custom Selections Menu Works. From there is Vectorscript which do lots of interesting things, if not covered in the paper manual both should be well covered online version of the Manual. Quote Link to comment

Gary C
Kayaker, I tried that and it looks good, but I would like to refine, or improve so it will give me info based on certain criteria that I need for my estimating software assemblies. Quote Link to comment
islandmon
Back in the early 90's ... I managed to link FilemakerPro and Minicad worksheet data to create a very easy to use construction estimating program which had assessment , BOM, and insurance adjusting modules. Quote Link to comment
