Squiidly
I'm a novice user, using Vectorworks at home and stuck with ADT at work. My problem is that when I insert a window object into a wall, it shows up in the model as a window frame with solid wall inside, instead of glass and muntins. This has happened with 3 out of 4 windows I've inserted (they were made as duplicates of each other, if that matters). Is there a "proper" way to insert the windows, that the wall recognizes, that I'm not doing? Thanks. Quote Link to comment
Kevin
Look at the OIP. It should say Window in Wall. If it does not insert in the wall then it will only say window. Sometimes when placing doors and windows they do not insert by merely lay on top. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Robert Anderson Posted December 19, 2004 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted December 19, 2004 Squidly, (love the name!) the trick here is that you have to have "picked" the wall while clicking on it to insert a window. The easiest way to ensure that you are "picking" the wall is to give the wall some fill. If the wall has no fill, you can pick the wall by clicking on one of its faces. Even if you pick one of the faces with the Window tool, the window will still insert correctly, centering itself in the wall. Quote Link to comment
