Andrew Mac
I have constructed my three story model and know I want to know how to put the ground plane in. I am not sure if I am calling it the right thing. Parts of the building will be below ground level and when I do a rederning I want to make sure this put of the building is not seen. I guess I am asking what are the steps to achhieve this? It is not very clear in the book. Please help!! Thanks in advance!!!! Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Robert Anderson Posted October 31, 2003 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted October 31, 2003 The Ground Plane is a virtual plane, perpendicular to the Z axis, at layer reference 0. What you want is something to obscure parts of your basement/ lower level. For this purpose you can use pretty much any appropriate 3D object. You could for example make an extrusion in the shape of your site immediately around your building and use solid subtraction to shape it and subtract the footprint of your building.
