Assigning materials to window frames

Recommended Posts

Once a window is in a wall, how do I apply textures to the window jamb, sill, and muntins? The 'class settings' in the Object info pallette don't seem to do a whole lot to change the appearance. Also, am I able to tweak the glazing to get a more reflective quality?

Thanks

Under the class settings section, you have a few different drop down boxes.

Glzing has style glazing 1-3. THe others have Style 1-15.

When you select one of these style numbers, a class is created.

You then need to change the attributes of that corresponding class to meet the textures and colors you wish.

This is outlined in the architect user's guide.

For Glazing - set the solid fill to NONE to get a clear window. You can use a texture for this, but it will take forever and a day to render if you have alot of windows to render.

Realistically, you'll get a better glass like look with setting the solid fill to none and a quicker render.

Getting the glass texture to work just right as a window pane look can be alot of trial and error testing.
