Peter van der Elst
When I insert a self-made symbol of a L-shaped window, my wall is cut off very strange. The wall contains a hole from the top of the "L" to the right-bottom of the "L" (Still following? ). I hope someone can help me ! Thanks Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Robert Anderson Posted March 11, 2003 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted March 11, 2003 VectorWorks doe not support "concave" shapes cut in walls. An L shape is a "concave" shape. VectorWorks will find the minimum "convex hull" and will cut that shape of hole in the wall. If you want this kind of hole in the wall you must use solids operations. Peter van der Elst
Wow, that's one fast reply!! Thanks, maybe supporting concave shapes is something for an update? Quote Link to comment
Kristen
I would try inserting two rectangular openings in the wall to form the empty "L" shape, then place the window symbol lined up with your hole using the "no break" setting. This way you would not lose the wall properties as you do with solid subtractions. Quote Link to comment
