New Symbol Lines Dissapearing

Hi All!

 

I am running Vectorworks Designer 2021 with a ConnectCAD license on a Windows 10 system. I have been experiencing some issues when I create a new symbol. Sometimes when I create a new symbol, the lines or disappear entirely as if they were deleted in the process of becoming a symbol. The new symbol that ends up getting created does retain some of the lines, but when I double click into editing the symbol, the lines that disappeared did not come back. I'm not sure what causes this and I can get around it, but does anyone know why this happens and how I can avoid this in the future? Thanks!

First thing to check is that the lines didn't get relegated to the 3D component of the symbol.  Open up the 3D symbol edit and see if the missing lines appear there.  If they do, select them and set them to the Screen Plane (as opposed to Symbol Definition).  This should resort them to the 2D component of the symbol.
