Nico vd Schaaf
Hi, I've been looking around for answers, but without the result I'm looking for... I try to create a worksheet that lists all the instances of a particular symbol and in which space it is placed. The closest I got was via: formula: =DATABASE(((S='74 WC 01') & (Sto='first'))) then 2 columns with: =s / =GetSpaceNumForObj I seems that the GetSpaceNumForObj looks for all the space objects below because it's also listing the space numbers of ground floor spaces. When I change 'first' into 'ground floor' it only lists the space numbers on the ground floor... when I add criteria to GetSpaceNumForObj (ea: (Sto='first')) it will prompt only true or false and no numbers.... Anyone any Idea how to fix this? Thanks in advance! Nico Edited October 1, 2020 by nicovanderschaaf Quote Link to comment
Kars Keizer
can you share the file where you tried this, or did you already move on? Quote Link to comment
Nico vd Schaaf
I lost the file and recreated it with a slightly different worksheet setup and guess what...now it works!? I really don't know why it didn't work previously. I'll extent my experiment to test if it's reliable...hopefully it is. It will save me a lots of time (and mistakes) counting...which I terribly hate... chair count.vwx Quote Link to comment
Kars Keizer
The way you made the worksheet now is the same way I would have done it, I foresee no problems. I can only find one thing that could have been the issue with the first file Did you update your Vectorworks between making the first and the second file? because in SP4 they fixed an bug with GetSpaceNumForObj. Quote VB-168111 GetSpaceNumForObj not working when space has no height Quote Link to comment
Nico vd Schaaf
I'm confident too now... I'm not sure when the latest update was released (I guess more than 2weeks ago?) but in general I update immediately when a new SP is released...When I run into new bugs I'll get back here! Thanks!
