Vectorworks, Inc Employee Andrew Bell@NV Posted March 1, 2006 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted March 1, 2006 What are you importing from? Have you tried the actual import already, and what sort of objects do you create? 3-D text is easily created with the Text Along Path command, but if you have a logo as your source, you may not have text in the traditional sense, but instead some sort of outline that has the appearance of text. We'll need a little more info to give more guidance. [ 03-01-2006, 09:31 AM: Message edited by: Andrew Bell@NNA ] Quote Link to comment
rouse73
I am often given logos in the form of jpegs and would like to create vector outlines then extrusions from them (eg to use as a relief on a wall). Maybe the awnser lies in converting them into vector outlines outside of vector works and then importinng them in? (photoshop/illustrator?) Thanks for your time.. Quote Link to comment
Jonathan Pickup
VectorWorks has a convert bitmap command, but Adobe Streamline works wonders and can export the jpeg as a dxf file that you can import into VectorWorks Quote Link to comment
Jonathan Pickup
the command used to be called Trace bitmap Quote Link to comment
