Better More Robust Parametric Plumbing Fixtures

Tom Klaber

Question

The Bath-Shower and Component Sink objects have some good potential but need some added graphic control.  The component sink tool should be expanded to be a Custom Vanity tool (this could be put into the custom cabinet tool).  We should have more class control, and the ability to add both surface mount and wall mount fixtures as well as undermount, surface mount, or top mount bowls.  There should also be the option for wall mount or floor mounted cabinetry as well as the Legs options.  Counter top should be classifiable as to control both line weight and texture.

The Bath-Shower should have some more options about configuration and the ability to control if it is an under mount, surface mount, or free standing.  The free standing should have some basic parametric controls over shape.

All of this would be amazing for SD and early DD before exact items are specified.  If the parametric are good enough - and we approximate the shape of the true specification, and do not need to import a 3D DFX mess, all the better.

A better standard parametric toilet would be great too.  It could have 4 or 5 parameters.  Outlet location, wall mount, floor mount, 2 piece or 1 piece.

The more we can rely on smart efficient objects the better - I feel like our files get bogged down from outside resources in the early stages of a project because of the lack of some more customization generics.
