Arthur Lee
Hi guys, I've heard that MAC OS and Windows installers are bound in the same disc ; it means one MAC OS and one Windows Vectorworks' could be installed simultaneously using a license, does it ? I'm just curious about it. Thanks, Quote Link to comment
alanmac
I understand they changed this to OS specfic discs now, but yes certainly in older versions both where on the same disc and the installers saw which OS you had, ran that software and looked for that OS specific reg' number, each different for the particular OS you'd brought it for. Even if they were there the OS specific numbers and in the case of UK, dongles, would stop "illegal" use. As a side note I agree the license should be one license, one machine, but don't think it should be tied to the OS as well. If I want to change my machine from Windows to Apple Mac or vice versa I think the license should allow this change at any time, not as Nemetschek do, at the point of upgrading. Jonathan Pickup
i think the installers are still on the same disk, I know I have used the same disk recently to install VectorWorks on both platforms. If you have Toast for burning CD?s you can make this kind of disk. Quote Link to comment
