Viper x
Just recently I am experiencing the system slowing down and then it will crash followed by a "memory low" warning. It is happening more often and is a problem, well more than a problem it is frightening having the system shut down mid working session is very unsettling. This has never happened in the past but seems to be building up and happening frequently. I have just managed to scrap to the finish line on an important drawing whilst I am expiencing all these very scary crashes. Is there some steps I can take to improve the system before I launch into a new project ? I am not sure my nerves can cope with another couple of weeks of "fingers crossed" Suggestions please. I am running a PC with 512mg ram Pentium 4 x 2.4gHz 2 x 80 gig hard drives. I am using 10.5.1 I have all other applications shut down. I am working with an 8mg drawing that is farly simple line work. It only happens when I am using vectorworks. Thanks Viper [ 08-05-2004, 07:20 AM: Message edited by: Viper x ] Quote Link to comment
Guest
What OS are you using? Do you have Norton AntiVirus, or any other virus protection software running in the systems tray? (the icons in the lower right corner by the clock) What types of operations are you doing when you get the symptoms? Do you restart the computer after this happens? Quote Link to comment

I have a firewall but it is turned off and it is not Norton. 3. Straight forward placing plants, line work adding fill colour. 4. Generally not, I just re-start VW. What is the issue with a firewall ? Lately it is getting worse, I am now getting "low memory" warnings then crashing and now I am also getting runtime errors and it crashes. Combine those two and you can imagine it is a nervous session on Vectorworks Anything I can look at to stabilise the situation Katie ? Thanks Viper. Guest
Have you tried to update the video driver? How many other programs do you have running in the lower right corner next to the clock? What are they? You should also restart the computer when you get the crash. [ 08-09-2004, 11:08 AM: Message edited by: Katie ] Quote Link to comment
