kd_archdesign
The new image compression in VW 11 is Incredible. My 18 meg file is only 1.2 megs in VW 11. However, I'm not sure what the difference is between PNG and JPG compression. Which do you reccomend? [ 05-04-2004, 03:36 PM: Message edited by: kd_archdesign ] Quote Link to comment
Guest
Usually JPG compression offers a smaller image file. Although, there are some (few) instances where the PNG will be smaller. It's just a different image type. The PNG is the only image compression that can convert the image to black and white only. JPG has a lower quality than PNG, therefore on screen and on print the quality of the image will be less than a PNG. A PNG image format does not suffer from degredation unpon compression, therefore providing good quality on screen and at print.
