mikelite80
My boss is having a problem importing 2004 .dwg. I know he knows how to do it right so it isn't user error. I know Autodesk changed there format between 2002 and 2004 so I'm thinking that is the problem. VW 10.5.1 MacOS 10.3 Thanks Mike Edit: Did a search and found it isn't supported as of April 2003. Maybe it has been fixed or in the process of fixing. [ 03-03-2004, 12:31 PM: Message edited by: mikelite80 ] Quote Link to comment
Guest
You cannot import 2004 AC files with VW 10. Quote Link to comment
ErichR
Both .DWG and .DXF files? Quote Link to comment
Hugo
I think in Autocad you should save the file as a DWG/DXF version 2000/2002 and then it should work. Am I wrong? Hugo Quote Link to comment
Jacques
Hugo, that should work OK. For what it's worth...When you save files in AutoCAD 2004 and you set the save format in preferences as ACad 2000, and try and open it in ACad 2000, it doesn't work...! AutoDesk made a bit of a bungle on that one! I would stick with Acad 2000 format. -Jacques. Quote Link to comment
ErichR
We tried Jacques' saving an AC 2004 dwg as a 2000 dwg via AC Options and confirmed what he said: AC can't open it. But if you simply Save As, in AC 2004, to AC 2000, there is no problem. We confirmed what Katie said: AC 2004 can't be imported by VW 10.5.1 (either DWG OR DXF). N.B.: You can, in AC 2004, Save As AC 2000, and VW CAN import it. Quote Link to comment
