VW is a great tool, but after a day of placing Textures on my project I feel that many parts of the interface are in need of an update. Chief amongst these is the application of Texture on items; this is a visual process, not only of known finishes and experience, but generally a process of trial and error and evaluating combinations. Here is my suggestion:
- All 3D items should have a choice to be free of the OIP (& it's Engineer designed interface) & able to pick a face, edge, line, and apply a texture to it with an Eyedropper & Paint Bucket like tool(s)
-A Gimlet tool - a small Viewport that could be launched within a Design Layer so one can get an idea of a very small part of the drawing's resulting texture in a chosen Render mode without either having to Render the whole Layer, or without having to leave the Layer view & open a Viewport
