bruce arnold
In VWA 9.5.3 I'm unable to access record data in a worksheet if the record is inside a symbol which is in a wall. VWA seems to be able to find the info if the symbol is free floating but not when attached to a wall. Anyone else have this problem? Quote Link to comment
Guest
Is the record attached to the symbol in a wall, or is the record attached to an object within the symbol (nested) which is in a wall? Quote Link to comment
bruce arnold
The record is attached to an object nested inside a symbol attached to the wall. I have selected 'look in symbols' when creating the report to no avail. Quote Link to comment
jfmarch
Katie- this is similar to my other post today Nested Symbols How does one get records to read from nested symbols on a worksheet? Quote Link to comment
Guest
Right this minute, I have no idea how to fix it. This is on my list of things to research. I'll let you know as soon as I find out. Quote Link to comment
jfmarch
When one begins a new VW file with Setup Assistant, and you go to "create report" command, a dialog box appears enabling you to title and create a worksheet. There is a button on the bottom for "options" and checkbox in that that says ""in symbols", for gathering data on nested symbols. When I do that the worksheet criteria contains this info- =DATABASE(INSYMBOL AND (XXXX)). When I try to add the INSYMBOL AND to my worksheet, all data goes away. I want to get window symbol data from symbols and nested symbols (symbols within symbols) for my shedule. What am I doing wrong? Quote Link to comment
