Tanianina
All the plant symbols on my drawing are not the at the spread that I have nominated. For example, when I measure a Buxus symbol that is supposed to be 600mm wide, it only measures at 520mm on the design layer. Is it normal that all plant symbols are shrunken down when you place them? PS. My plant scale if 'fixed'. Quote Link to comment

mike m oz
There is a mismatch between your 2D and 3D sizes as shown in the attached image. If you haven't done that yourself then you should bug submit the problem. The 2D of the left plant is also not centred on the origin which means there is a displacement between the 2D and the 3D. Tanianina
Thanks for the feedback. I'm not quite sure how to fix the problem though. How do I fix a mismatch between 2D and 3D symbols (the symbol I used was an inbuilt one that comes with VW). Do you mean I should make the 2D & 3D symbols the same size in edit? Also, how do I "bug submit the problem"? Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted November 7, 2014 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted November 7, 2014 On the right hand side of these forums, under the "Vectorworks Community Links" there is a link for Bug Submit, which leads here: http://www.vectorworks.net/support/bugsubmit.php You should go ahead and file this as an issue, I will do the same. You should not have to manually correct the default content. Quote Link to comment
Tanianina
Ok done. Thanks. Can anyone tell me where I can get good information from on how to make 2D and 3D plant symbols and what are the important things to note. I don't need core information - such as using the Plant-Component classes, centring symbols and how to use them once created - but rather information that is more detailed like making sure your symbols are matched and at what size to initially create them.
