mattryan
Hi I am trying to rotate my 2d building section drawing in 3d so that i can model it. Can anyone explain how I can go about this? In Sketchup i can easily import all section and elevation drawings and position them in 3d and construct my model from them. Thanks Quote Link to comment

Or is it an image you have imported? However, normally you would use the hybrid Door, Window and Wall tools to draw out the floor plan, then your 3D model is already ready. Quote Link to comment
mattryan
HI Jim thanks for the response. this is a drawing file so the section is made up of lines. Its a file that was already created so I would like to use it as a guide as I build the model. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted September 18, 2014 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted September 18, 2014 Select all of the lines in a Top/Plan view, then in the Object Info palette at the top right, set their Plane to "Layer" Then, in a front or side view, you should be able to use the Modify > Rotate command or the Rotate tool to stand the lines up.
