ChadL
Is there a way to put in a custom class in the plugin editor for VS4 tools? I tried putting my default video class in the 'MasterClass / Parts Classes Prefix' line' but it always starts out as VS Thanks, Quote Link to comment
C. Andrew Dunning
Chad - Which of the tools is giving you issues? And, which build/version (at the bottom of the OIP)? (We just released more updates this past weekend and I've confirmed that Class prefixing does work in those.) Unless you're well-versed in editing Plug-In strings, other than the prefix, there isn't a way to create custom Classes. If entering a different master/prefix isn't working, would you mind posting (or, sending me) a sample file showing the issue? Quote Link to comment
ChadL
Hey Andrew, Sorry for my delayed response. I am using VS4- build 4.4. I have attached a file that I put a screen into. Really it is not a big deal, I am just trying to figure out if I can save the extra step. Chad Quote Link to comment
C. Andrew Dunning
Chad - In the file you posted, Class prefixing does work as it should. Simply replace "VS" with different text. That being said, all that text is just the prefix for all of the classes in the preset structure. For example, if you change "VS" to "Chad" your Classes will be: Chad-Centerlines Chad-Dress Drapery Chad-FF Legs Chad-Frames etc. Does that help, at all? Quote Link to comment
ChadL
Yes, but I was trying to change it in the plugin editor so I didn't have to change that on every document. Quote Link to comment
C. Andrew Dunning
Chad - Gotcha. What you want to do, then, in VW2104, is to click on the "Strings" tab after clicking the "Customize" button in the Plug-In Manager. On the "Strings" tab is a list of string categories. Click on 11000 - "Class Names." Click the "Edit" button. Click on 11002 and click the "Edit" button. Change "VS" to whatever you want it to be. "OK" out of that and the previous dialog. Click the "Close" button. 2 things: 1) You do this editing at your own risk. Changing the wrong string or inadvertently erasing strings could make the tool totally fail. 2) This change will only affect files into which no VideoScreen 4 or Spotlight video objects have ever been inserted. While it is easy enough to change through the Prefs dialog for each insertion instance, the default Class prefix is stored (for all of the video tools) in a hidden record as soon as one of the tools is used. I hope this helps. Quote Link to comment
