Does anyone use door hardware?

Can anyone help us with door hardware?

All of the sets listed are empty (when I select them nothing shows up on the door). When I go to manage hardware -> edit, there is all of the data but no symbol, and nothing happens when I click in the symbol box. Same thing when I try to add hardware. I can't select any symbols.

I don't really understand how door hardware works vs. all of the normal symbols. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

It doesn't. It looks like this. You can see where yours shows the door hardware symbol and mine doesn't. That's where I'm unable to see or select any hardware. I have the door hardware library in my resource browser though..

Where in your computer is the Door Hardware.vwx file stored?

It should be in Vectorworks2014\Libraries\Defaults\Door - Hardware

However, did you do this after installing Vectorworks?

I believe you have to install the architectural libraries in order to get door hardware.

I did do that when I installed 2014 but I'd really like to avoid doing it again because wouldn't that create duplicates of everything?

No, it would overwrite any that were already installed. If you run it again and you still don't get the door hardware once it is finished installing, check with tech@vectorworks.net
