amorris28
How do I set up stories if I have 3 different (split) levels within the structure? Stories can't overlap heights and I don't seem to be able to set up multiple floor levels within the "Main" floor. Any help is appreciated. Quote Link to comment
Markvl
Hi amandamo, I don't use stories at all. I simply use layers. I work on a few split level house plans so I know the frustration you're experiencing. Simply make a layer for every level you've got, split or otherwise. For example "Main Floor" 0 elevation, "Upper Floor" 10'-0" elevation, and "Front Entry" 5'-0" elevation. Front entry being the split level that for instance maybe half way between the main floor and the upper floor. This isn't a sure fire answer for every situation as there are other factors in place such as the materials/walls you may be using at the different levels. Sometimes you have to deviate to get the "look" you want and the information you want to show. Hope this helps. There are other posts here that get into bigger discussions on the use of Stories and Layers. I do wish though that there was a method using stories to address split levels. Cheers.
