jet
I have over a 1000, points (importing shp file). All these points ave the attributes attached to them, i can see the information in the "Object info - data" Each point is a Loci, i want to create basic symbols, different colour circles, and have them display the correct symbol, based on the data in one of the fields.... Any ideas out there? jim Vectorworks 2014, full design series MBP 2.2 i7 16 GB Ram OS X (10.8.5) Quote Link to comment

The above of course requires a specific selection, perhaps Select Similar tool, with its options set so that Database Records acts as the filter? If you can post a sample VWX of some of the imported objects or the whole file I can give it a shot. Edited September 26, 2013 by JimW Quote Link to comment
jet
Thanks, that seems to work but its a manual process. Select points based on field data then do a replace... Is there a way to have VW place symbols based on field data dynamically? jim VW 2014 design series MBP 2.2 i7 16 GB OS 10.8.5 Quote Link to comment
jet
To verify... Some SHP files seem to work perfectly, and place correctly in VW. But others, i can never get to project properly, although they will place in other applications fine. jim VW 2014 design series MBP 2.2 i7 16 GB OS 10.8.5 Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted October 1, 2013 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted October 1, 2013 Is there any difference in the source of the SHP files that corresponds with them working/not working? Or does it seem to be random? Quote Link to comment
