KNOSAJ
for those of us coming from different software platforms, does anyone have a handy table or something that shows what the command equivalents for VW are? thanks! Quote Link to comment
Bryan G.
Under The help Command, select VW Help then pdf, then commands. This will give you a list. Quote Link to comment
KNOSAJ
I am really looking for a compiled list that says something like AutoCad: Extend = VW: whatever AutoCad: X = VW: X ive seen a similar list for other software but haven't seen it in quite some time. Quote Link to comment
Bryan G.
I guess I would have to say it would probably be easier to forget about AutoCad and just look as VW as its own thing. There are some similarities but they do work differently, so trying to "match" them up will only confuse the situation. Just my oppinion Quote Link to comment
atari2600
You are certainly not the first one who has asked for this, and likely not the last. I found an earlier thread on this: http://techboard.vectorworks.net/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=19744 There is a response within the thread where someone offered an eloquent "Autocad to Vectorworks translation". I agree that understanding the logic behind the VW shortcuts is essential toward faster productivity. Unless you were using Architectural Desktop or Revit, the jump from Autocad to Vectorworks is pretty large. You will never forget Autocad, but I suggest to put it's "computer drafting philosophy" aside while learning Vectorworks. You'll end up respecting both programs better that way. Good Luck, Matt Quote Link to comment
