ray isaacs
i recently started using the three vbvisual plant samples in my design models and find that i really like them for both design studies and representations. after over using the 8m maple tree, i need more. nothing wrong with vb (except maybe cost)...but i just want to see what else is out there. does anybody know if there are other sources in addition to vbvisual for 3d plants? cheers, ray Quote Link to comment
Bryan G.
I generally use image props, and then can create my own. Quote Link to comment
ray isaacs
bryan, do you construct them with 3d polygons, or do you leave them as images? the latter works fine in many situations. but, there are problems with light and shadow, as well as limitations of rendering modes. the 3d models are more versatile and give a better sense of space, i think. and they don't seem to have a huge impact on model size. cheers, ray Quote Link to comment
Bryan G.
I use them as images with the background cropped. This allows for appropriate shadows with the only drawback being a rendered top vie as the cross plant disappears and leaves only the shadow. Quote Link to comment
