scaling vs enduce/enlarge

Recommended Posts

It all depends on the driver you are using. Most of the information in that dialog box is directly from your print driver, or software used to generate the print files such as a rip software.

Some drivers don't have a scaling feature, so we included one in our section of the PageSetup. As for the enduce/enlarge, that is a function of the print driver itself. The scaling portion could also be from the driver if you are using one of the common Epson drivers.

You may want to check your Printer User's Manual about the difference. If not, let us know what trype of printer and software such as LaserWriter 8, Adobe version number, etc you are using and we can try to get you an answer.

Thanks Katie.

The point is, if that's a printer feature, do I risk that the scaling will be done according to paper size instead to real lengths? Which would make the drawing a "more or less 5meter" kind of a thing?

We're using different types of printers as most of our drawings are printed extern.

But the only thing that interests me is whether or not precision is harmed by one of the features.
