wall hatches disappear when pasting a cavity wall between layers

I'm just setting up a new worksheet document so that I don't use anything from previous version of Vectorworks. I have drawn a 300mm cavity wall in my 1:100 layer but when pasted into a 1:50 layer it reverts to a 300mm thick plain wall without any separate components.

All the classes are visible, I can't figure out why it's happening, I'm probably missing something really simple. any ideas?

Did you check under Document Preferences if the "Hide Details when Layer Scale is <= 1:" is not selected (or set to 1:50 or lower)?

If it's in a Viewport, make sure "Show Wall Components" is selected under Advanced Properties.

I'm almost too embarrassed to say but for some reason every time I selected the pasted into layer the view changed away from Top/Plan. All seems to be well now that I've keyed in #5!
