Ken
I thought this issue would get fixed in an upcoming version. This problem is from the Minicad era. Sometimes roof faces are much more intricate than this. The essential problem shown is that the eave profile is NOT done to the higher eave. Dieter @ DWorks
Haha, that's because your roof isn't drawn correctly. do this to solve this: * Select your roof face in plan view. * See the line with the arrow in the center. * Move this line up your roof so that it's above all eaves. (from the roof face point of view) * See that all eaves are correctly drawn. The thing with roofs is that the eave you set only happens on the lower side of the roof of the above stated line. Does not work, Mr. Know-it-all. Thanks for laughing at me. Your last sentence read, "The thing with roofs is that the eave you set only happens on the lower side of the roof of the above stated line." Duh! So do you understand the problem or don't you? Ken
I've emailed you the drawing. It's just a simple roof face. You realize that you spoke out of both sides of your mouth in your response above? Quote Link to comment
Dieter @ DWorks
Duh! So do you understand the problem or don't you? I do understand the problem. English is not my main language, so I try to explain what you need to do. So I expect from you that you also try to understand what I want to say, although it might not be clear. You can still ask details. Quote Link to comment
Pete (STZ)
Ken, I understand your problem and I can replicate... does not matter where the 'pitching line' is. When I add another section below the part of the roof that does have the correct eave - the eave 'treatment' moves to the lowest edge. Quote Link to comment
Dieter @ DWorks
Ok, I tested the problem and I guess I was wrong about it. In a sense I was correct, but it only works when your eaves are square. If you use other types, I would suggest drawing your roof in pieces, that will solve the problem. You just have to hide edges in order to show it right in plan view. In hidden line, you will not see a line between the two. Quote Link to comment
Ken
Seriously, you really don't have to be still correct in any sense when it's a Vectorworks flaw. Sure the solution is hacking up the roof face into little pieces, but many times for complex shapes, you do NOT want to do that. Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
Ken, Drawing the roof in pieces is way less than ideal. In top/plan it will show lines where there shouldn't be lines. Not to mention other issues. If you have time please file a bug for this! Quote Link to comment

Ken
Yes I did submit this as a bug a while back. Maybe I should keep a file and submit them again and again every year like whenever a new version comes out? Maybe I should get paid for it, too. Quote Link to comment
