cwailes
What would cause the shutters to do this. If you look at the attachment you will see the shutters are inset into the jamb of the window. The should be sitting on top of the jamb not embedded into it, correct? How do I fix this? taoist
OK Great! Can you post file (.vwx) in 2008 format as I do not have 2011 or 2012 yet. taoist Quote Link to comment
taoist
Go to settings and change offset from jamb. taoist Quote Link to comment
taoist
From what I can see, the shutters are away from the jamb. I assume you them so they do not cover the exterior trim? Go to settings > Exterior Shutter > Change the offset from jamb. On my system default is 1/4". Change to what ever number you need. taoist Quote Link to comment
cwailes
Doesn't the offset from jamb just move each individual shutter either left or right? I would think that they both need to move forward as if they were sitting on top of the jamb. I have an attic window which is a 2030 window with shutters and the shutters look correct and the settings are the same. I will just use the offset from jamb and move them far enough from the window to keep them from intruding on the jamb. Quote Link to comment
taoist
ccw, Yes the offset moves the left shutter to the left and the right shutter to the right. The jamb is the frame of the window The exterior trim (casing)I believe is what you are talking about. Do you want the shutters to be mounted to the casing? Please post an image of your attic window with shutters so I can fully understand the issue. taoist Quote Link to comment
cwailes
Ok here is a image of the attic window and how I would like the shutters to be. Quote Link to comment
taoist
OK. Shutters attach to the casing. Using VW2012 Demo I get same problem on my window. Also, shutters do not show in plan view Will try using Vw2008 taoist Quote Link to comment
taoist
VW 2008 works fine. Back side of shutters butts exterior casing. I let Tech Support know. taoist Edited September 18, 2011 by taoist Quote Link to comment
cwailes
What size of window did you use? The attic window I used was a 2030 and it worked fine. However, the main floor window was 3050 and it doesn't work. As for plan view the only way I can get the shutters to show in the top view is to use the 3Dtop view and not the top/plan view. I agree, if you add shutters to a window object they should be visible in both plan/top view as well as 3D view. Quote Link to comment
taoist
Will do again using VW 2008 as that is what I have at work. 2012 Demo version is at home as work computer is too old. Work computer is single core Pentium 4 (Ouch !) taoist Quote Link to comment
