jneufeld
Hi, I am running VW2011. I have inserted a curtain using the spotlight curtain tool and I am trying to light it using a spotlight in the Visualisation palette. The problem I am having is that in OpenGL the curtain appears lit the way I want it however when I switch to FQ Renderworks or Fast Renderworks the curtain is no longer lit. I have tried changing the light source to directional and even point, but the same occurs, the floor will be lit as normal but the drape will not reflect any light. Does anyone know why this would be happening? Thanks, Josh Quote Link to comment
Nicholas Kargel
Does the curtain have a texture? What color is it? I just did a little experimentation and found this: With a black curtain with no texture, I could light it in openGL (I had to make the light very bright). It would not light in Renderworks. If I made the curtain even a very dark grey, or gave it a texture, it would light. So I'd guess that RW interprets the black as a theoretically perfect true black that will not reflect light. Vectorworks, Inc Employee Tamsin Slatter Posted August 28, 2011 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted August 28, 2011 That's correct - a black surface in Renderworks does not emit/reflect any light. Quote Link to comment
