Drawing membranes - dpm, vapour barrier with the wall tool

Hi

I am using vectorworks 2010 fundamentals.

Can anyone tell me how to draw membranes in 2D using the wall tool. I have tried making a class with a pattern fill and creating a wall with zero thickness. This is ok for flat membranes but when i wish to represent a folded membrane - the pattern does not orient to the angle.

Hi jbd, welcome to the fora,

I don't believe it's possible to do what you need. It's a novel idea to use the wall tool as a patterned line but however logical it seems I don't believe it's possible to have the patterning/hatching reorientate with the wall.

Pattern fills do rotate with the wall when you have the option turned on. Edit the options of the hatch and turn it on.

Found it. Patterns won't - but Hatches can be set to Rotate to Wall via the edit hatch window.
